Estimation of the potential growth of the economy, including for the purpose of monitoring and forecasting the structural public-finance balances, and verifying the expenditure rule, significant deviations, and the debt rule. Analysis of the sustainability of the public debt, and pension and healthcare expenditure, in the short, medium and long term. Analysis of supplementary pension programmes, and the adequacy of the pension systems, including through the use of dynamic micro-simulation models (T-DYMM). Analysis of the reforms and structural characteristics of the Italian economy. Monitoring of the recommendations of the European Council to Italy and updating the timetable for the reforms of the Government in collaboration with the competent ministries. Technical coordination and preparation of the National Reform Program (NRP) and of the obligations associated with it at the EU. Contact point for the analysis and the development of the indicators of equitable and sustainable wellbeing (BES) in coordination with the main national actors in relation to the context of the budget law and the Economic and Financial Planning Document (DEF). Monitoring of Italy's progress on Agenda 2030. Collaboration on the National Sustainable Development Strategy (SNSvS) developed by the Ministry of the Environment and participation in related working groups on sustainable finance. Support to the Head of the Directorate and to the Director General of the Treasury in defining Italy’s position within the ECOFIN Economic Policy Committee (EPC) and within the related work groups. Participation in the EPC meetings, and reconciliation of the activities undertaken by the EPC and those of other European committees (CEF, CEF-A and ECOFIN). Monitoring of the EU governance and analysis of the relative implications. Coordination of the dossiers for the Economic Policy Committee and the OECD Working Party 1, and participation in the committee meetings for the same. Preparation of position papers and research activity regarding subjects for which the Section is responsible. Semi-annual summaries of the Directorate’s work with the Economic Policy Committee for the purpose of reporting to the Department of the Treasury and Parliament.
