Directorate III – International Financial Relations

Office I

General affairs, secretary and support to the Head of the Directorate with respect to the matters falling within the Directorate's area of responsibility. Personnel management, internal transfers within the Directorate, performance evaluation of managers and staff, and management of variable salary, in accordance with the policies and general guidelines set by the Department of General Administration, Personnel and Services. Compliance matters related to the register of assignments (anagrafe degli incarichi). Administrative procedures preparatory to the conferral of mandates for advisory and coordinated collaboration services to external personnel, and execution, to the extent of the resources allocated, of contracts and the related approval decrees in connection with the Department of General Administration, Personnel and Services for the purpose of the subsequent administrative/accounting management. Definition of the Directorate's requirements and needs in relation to human resources, training, purchases and logistics. Planning and procurement of the financial resources assigned to the Directorate. Consultation, regulatory adaptation, legal disputes and legal-administrative coordination with respect to matters falling within the Directorate's area of responsibility. Compliance matters related to Directorate's strategic planning, management control and budget.

Informal intergovernmental groups, including the G7/G8 and the G20. Coordination with Italian and foreign public administrations, institutions and bodies in matters related to these groups. Preparation of and participation in the Economic and Financial Committee, the ECOFIN Council, the EUROGROUP, and the European Council and related committees and working groups. Stability and convergence programmes. Coordination with Italian and foreign public administrations, institutions and bodies in matters related to these groups, including participation in technical committees and working groups within the Inter-Ministerial Committee for European Community Affairs (CIACE). Coordination of the Directorate's activity in relation to European economic, monetary and financial affairs.

Office V

Analysis of the economic variables and policies of the main advanced countries, including those in the Euro Area. Preparation of and participation in OECD Working Party 3 meetings. Relationships with the Bruegel Association, in particular on issues regarding the research activity. Coordination of the Directorate's activities in relation to the analysis of the international economic, monetary and financial system, including the analysis of the economic policies of the main areas and countries. Participation in meetings of the OECD Economic and Development Review Committee (EDRC).

Office VI

Economic and financial analysis of the policies of the main emerging countries. Analysis of global issues having an important economic impact, including – within the limits of the Office's responsibility - climate change and trade policies as well as related WTO and OECD negotiations. Issues associated with the prevention of fraud involving means and forms of payment, with a particular focus on coordination with the activities that both the Department of the Treasury and international bodies undertake in this area.

Analysis of regulatory and supervisory policies for the European and international financial markets.
